About me
I am lead researcher and director of the CIEN Foundation's biomarker platform at the Queen Sofia Alzheimer's Centre. I studied biology at the University of Alicante, completed a master's degree in neuroscience at Miguel Hernández University in Elche, and obtained my PhD in neuroscience from the same university. Since my master's degree, my research has focused on the search for biomarkers for the diagnosis and monitoring of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. When I finished my PhD, I moved to the United Kingdom, where I worked for seven years at University College London. There, I developed my career as a dementia researcher at the UK Dementia Research Institute, where I was named Emerging Leader. In 2021, I was awarded with t"Race Against Dementia grant", which allowed me to continue my research and establish my own group. I have now joined the CIEN Foundation to lead the biomarker group and continue our research to help people with neurodegenerative diseases.
