Gonzalo Jiménez Rodríguez

PhD candidate in Social Communication at Universidad CEU San Pablo. Pre-doctoral researcher in the AlgorLit Project.
Gonzalo Jiménez Rodríguez is a PhD candidate at CEINDO (CEU International Doctoral School) within the Social Communication program. He is a predoctoral researcher in training under the project “Knowledge, attitudes and opinions of the Spanish population about Internet algorithms and the design of Critical Algorithmic Literacies (AlgorLit),” funded by the Spanish State Training Program for Research Talent (FPI) within the 2021–2023 National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation. His research focuses on algorithmic literacy, digital transformation, and territorial inequality in rural Spain.
He holds a dual degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism from Universidad CEU San Pablo and simultaneously completed his final year of Journalism studies with a Master’s in Mobile Communication and Digital Content (Universities of Murcia and Polytechnic of Cartagena). His professional background includes internships at La Linterna (Cadena COPE) and work as a community manager at the development NGO CONEMUND.
He teaches in the undergraduate Journalism program at Universidad CEU San Pablo, where he lectures on “Theory of Communication and Information”, “Public Opinion” and “Communication Management” in the Department of Journalism and Digital Narratives.
Outside of academia, Gonzalo enjoys swimming—an activity he has also taught professionally—as well as photography, music, and exploring cities. He’s an avid radio listener and passionate about emerging digital storytelling formats.
