Isabel Sierra Alonso


About me

I hold a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in Chemical Sciences. Since 1999, I have been a professor and researcher at Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), currently serving as a Full Professor and head of the consolidated research group in Analytical Chemistry Applied to the Environment, Food, and Pharmaceuticals at URJC.
My current research focuses on the analysis of bioactive compounds and contaminants in food to ensure quality and safety, as well as the development of new food products and their sensory analysis. I have held various administrative positions, including Degree Coordinator, Department Secretary and Director, and Deputy Director of the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology at URJC.
I am passionate about research and enjoy teaching in the field of food science and technology. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, traveling, sewing, and taking care of my cats, Fecha and Arena.
