Begoña Fernández Pintor
About me
Hello! My name is Begoña, and I hold a degree in Food Science and Technology from Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC). I later completed a Master’s in Chemical Science and Technology at UNED, where I discovered my true passion: science, the laboratory, and research.
I am currently finishing my PhD thesis, which focuses on developing analytical methods to detect contaminants and bioactive compounds in food, with a special emphasis on novel foods such as edible flowers—an area that is rapidly growing. During my research journey, I had a very enriching experience in Madeira, where I had the opportunity to delve deeper into the study of flowers and develop techniques to analyze their positive potential as functional ingredients.
Outside the lab, I’m passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, practicing sports, dancing, and of course—going out to find flowers!
