About me

Hello! I'm Lorena González Gómez, a graduate in Food Science and Technology from Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC). I have worked in various companies within the food industry. While working, I completed a Master’s in Chemical Science and Technology with a specialization in Analytical Chemistry at the National University of Distance Education (UNED). During this time, I discovered my passion for research, which led me to pursue a PhD, which I completed in 2023.

My thesis was carried out in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Technology at URJC and focused on developing new analytical methodologies for the analysis of natural toxins and processing-induced toxins in different types of food. Additionally, during my research stay at the University of Madeira, I worked on developing methodologies using microextraction techniques to analyze tropane alkaloids—one of the toxin families I studied in depth.

Currently, I continue working on contaminant control in food, as well as the analysis of environmental samples, further expanding my experience in food safety and analytical chemistry.

In my free time, I love painting, traveling, and discovering new places.
