Carmen Montoro
About me
Carmen has a solid academic background that includes a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching, as well as a specialization in Inorganic Chemistry.
At the Autonomous University of Madrid, Carmen works as a tenured lecturer in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. Her research focuses on the development of functional materials designed for the removal of industrial and environmental pollutants. In addition, she has led nine teaching innovation projects aimed at improving the quality and approach of education in her field.
Beyond her academic work, Carmen has been an active promoter of science outreach since 2012. She has organized various educational events, funded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry, aimed at bringing science closer to society and fostering scientific curiosity among young people. She is also the coordinator of the science outreach project “Knowing Science Today Opens the Doors of Tomorrow. Breaking Boundaries.”
