Catalina Hernández Sánchez
About me
Researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) with training at the Cajal Institute and international experience at the NIH (USA) and the University of London. Currently a Staff Scientist at the CIB Margarita Salas, her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly retinal disorders, and the development of neuroprotective therapies. She is Co-Principal Investigator in several national and collaborative research projects. She has published numerous scientific articles, co-founded a biotechnology company, and participated in industry-sponsored research contracts. She holds one granted patent and another pending, both aimed at cellular and retinal therapies.
