This activity aims to showcase research on the circular economy in the railway sector. We will approach this concept from multiple angles: infrastructure, rolling stock, and energy. We aim to explain what the circular economy is and the meaning of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and to illustrate how their application can transform the railway into an even more environmentally friendly means of transport.

To do this, we will use real objects from trains and tracks. This will allow us to analyse the materials used and explore their possibilities for recycling or reuse. Additionally, we will have models made from reused materials, which will serve as visual support to illustrate the various facets of railway activity and its connection to the principles of the circular economy.

Activity carried out in collaboration with REDALSA.

Don't miss the train! The general public will be free to visit the Madrid Railway Museum.
