About me

Raquel Sánchez Baltasar is a postdoctoral researcher at the IMDEA Nutrition Institute, where she focuses on drug repurposing strategies for cancer treatment. Her research aims to identify new therapeutic applications for existing drugs, optimizing their use in oncology and precision medicine. She earned her PhD in Molecular Biosciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2024), with a thesis on RASA1-deficient models and their role in breast cancer and other associated pathologies. She also holds a Master’s in Biomedical Research from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rey Juan Carlos University. Throughout her career, she has worked at renowned research institutions, such as the Center for Energy, Environmental, and Technological Research (CIEMAT) and the 12 de Octubre University Hospital, contributing to research on cancer, gene therapy, and flow cytometry. Her scientific contributions include publications in high-impact journals such as The CRISPR Journal and Cancers, as well as presentations at national and international conferences like the ASEICA International Congress and the ESGCT Annual Congress. Raquel continues to expand her research, exploring new applications in the treatment of cancer.
