Andrés Anca Couce
About me
Associate Professor at UC3M conducting research on renewable energy and bioenergy. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Vigo and a PhD from the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). He was a professor at the Graz University of Technology (Austria) for 9 years and has been professor at UC3M for 3 years. His research focuses on processes to convert biomass into renewable heat, electricity, biofuels, and biomaterials, as well as how to integrate these conversion processes into renewable and sustainable energy systems. He is the principal investigator of several public and industry-funded projects, is included in Stanford’s ranking of the world’s most influential researchers, and is co-director of the UC3M Master's program in Renewable Energy in Thermal Systems. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time by the sea.
