Santiago Montiel Marín
About me
I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electronics at the University of Alcalá. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's studies in Industrial Engineering in 2021 and 2023, respectively, both at the University of Alcalá. Since 2023, I have been pursuing a doctoral thesis in the field of perception for Intelligent Transportation Systems, using deep learning techniques for sensor fusion of automotive cameras and radar.
In addition, within the research group, I actively participate in outreach and knowledge dissemination activities, such as demonstrations with the real vehicle or presentations at developer conferences like ROSCon Spain. I have also been involved in robotics during my time as a student, being an active member of the UAH team in competitions such as Eurobot.
Outside of the professional sphere, I enjoy racket sports, especially padel, and you’ll likely find me sharing anecdotes about historical events.
