About me

My name is Elizabeth Lucía Valeriano Lorenzo, and I am a psychologist specialising in clinical neuropsychology. My interest in research began in Buenos Aires, working with people with refractory epilepsy, and from that point on, I've dedicated myself to studying how human cognition changes.

In Lima, I worked with patients who had suffered brain damage, and later, in Madrid, I completed a master's degree and started my PhD at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where I focus my study on methodologies that help analyse how cognition evolves in ageing and brain diseases.

Since 2022, I have been part of the CIEN Clinical Platform, where I evaluate the cognitive functioning of volunteers in projects such as SCAP-AD, which seeks to detect mild cognitive impairment early through digital biomarkers, and DFT-Madrid, which focuses on researching blood biomarkers for frontotemporal dementia.

In addition to science, I am passionate about travelling, hiking, discovering patterns in data analysis and, of course, enjoying Peruvian food.
