Marta Sánchez Gómez-Serranillos is a pharmacist (UCM, 2016) and PhD in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid (2021). Her research focuses on the study of medicinal plants and lichens as a source of new drugs, paying special attention to their antioxidant and neuroprotective potential. To this end, she combines a traditional approach based on pharmacognosy with tools such as UHPLC-MS, metabolomic analysis, in silico studies, and cell cultures.
She currently works as a professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Complutense University of Madrid, where she is part of the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, and Botany, within the Natural Products Pharmacology group.
