An anthropologist specializing in intercultural education, she has extensive experience in international cooperation, primarily in rural communities in Latin America. She is a member of the UNESCO Chair in Environmental Education and Sustainable Development and the INTER Research Group on Intercultural Education, both at UNED. Her main line of research focuses on early school failure and dropout from an ethnographic and critical perspective. She is also interested in understanding how rural schools can become drivers of eco-social transformation in their territories, harnessing the learning and best practices of these educational communities.
