‘Cultura con C de Cosmos’: astronomía y la astrobiología a través del arte
El proyecto divulgativo Cultura con C de Cosmos (C3) busca explicar la astronomía a través del arte y viceversa. Está impulsado por el Centro de Astrobiología, centro mixto del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) y el Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA).
La fascinación por el cosmos y los avances científicos en astronomía y otras disciplinas afines han tenido una profunda repercusión en la cultura, desde las artes plásticas a la literatura, la música y la danza. Y, a la vez, la imaginación y creatividad de los artistas han servido como inspiración y estímulo para promover importantes desarrollos de la ciencia. El proyecto Cultura con C de Cosmos (C3) surge de ese constante diálogo entre el estudio del universo y su reflejo en las manifestaciones artísticas a lo largo de la historia.

El proyecto espera transmitir al público esa relación tan fecunda a través de numerosas actividades que tendrán lugar entre octubre de 2018 y marzo de 2019 en museos y otras instituciones culturales de Madrid, entre ellas el Ateneo de Madrid, Fundación Telefónica, Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, Museo del Romanticismo, Museo del Traje, Museo Geominero, Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas, Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Museo Naval de Madrid y Real Jardín Botánico.
Tanto la exposición como el conjunto del proyecto C3 pretende mostrar que las artes, las humanidades y la ciencia no son compartimentos estancos: constituyen los tres pilares, profundamente interconectados, sobre los que se asienta el edificio que llamamos cultura.
