100 CONCEPTOS BASICOS DE ASTRONOMÍA

Con motivo del Año Internacional de la Astronomía todos los astrónomos, aficionados y profesionales, hemos hecho un gran esfuerzo para acercar esta ciencia a todo el mundo. En particular, los miembros de la Sociedad Española de Astronomía (SEA) hemos participado en muchos y variados eventos para devolver a la sociedad todo lo que hemos aprendido acerca del Cosmos en nuestro trabajo diario. Por todo ello, dentro de la SEA se realizaron muchas actividades divulgativas durante el Año Internacional de la Astronomía 2009. Una de estas actividades fue la elaboración de un diccionario de términos astronómicos, principalmente dirigido a estudiantes de bachillerato y a profesores de ciencias. En él se definen algunos conceptos astronómicos tales como planeta, estrella, agujero negro, galaxia…

Este diccionario ha ido apareciendo en la página que El País digital dedicó a la Astronomía durante el año 2009 y actualmente lo podéis encontrar también en la página de la Sociedad Española de Astronomía dentro del apartado Terminología.

Posteriormente, ha sido editado un libro con una selección de términos llamado “100 CONCEPTOS BÁSICOS DE ASTRONOMÍA” del que reproducimos la portada en esta página.

Aprovechando el ofrecimiento de David y Benja de poder difundirlos en este blog, iremos publicando paulatinamente las distintas entradas del diccionario, de forma que poco a poco, el lector se pueda ir familiarizando con la terminología que utilizamos los astrónomos. ¡Esperamos que os guste!
