Los Edafólogos y las Redes Sociales: la IUSS en Linkedin
«Un Universo Invisible» desde Arequipa, Perú. Ya sabéis todos del enorme auge que experimentan las Redes Sociales en Internet. En Las universidades de USA los estudiantes llegaron a obligar a que todos los profesionales de las mismas se inscribieran bajo el lema: “si no apareces en Facebook, no existes”. No se trata tan solo de una moda, si no de una nueva forma de relacionarse, que nuestros hijos conocen mejor que nosotros. Las hay de todo tipo, siendo algunas espacialmente destinadas a actividades profesionales. El Boletín de Alerta de la IUSS informó en Mayo que se había creado una para los edafólogos en LinkedIn. Según crezca, se generará una red de relaciones en las que se intercambiarán opiniones, ofertas de trabajo, etc. Sin embargo, en mi opinión, lo más importante devendrá de la maya así creada permitirá que todos nos conozcamos con una enorme facilidad. Se puede participar mostrando nuestros perfiles, intereses, cursos que impartimos, dudas, etc., en varios idiomas y entre ellos el español castellano. Al final del mensaje de la alerta aludida, aparece el enlace o link al sitio de la IUSS. Poco más añadiré, por cuanto en los hipervínculos incluidos encontrareis todo tipo de información.

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site. LinkedIn had more than 65 million registered users, spanning more than 200 countries. The site is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in their profession. The people in the list are called Connections. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection. This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways: A contact network is built up consisting of their direct connections, and the connections of each of their connections. It can then be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one’s contact network. Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates. Job seekers can review the profile of hiring managers and discover which of their existing contacts can introduce them.
